中美新冷戰，正擴大到金融戰線。特朗普正式下令，禁止聯邦退休金投資中國股票，配合加強監管在美上巿中資，是要套牢中國的外資來源；一旦英國和歐洲加以配合，中國將面臨資金鏈危機。金融戰下，中國必將緊抓香港這條金融生命線；但吊詭地，香港的金融中心地位，卻是由美國透過《香港政策法》掌控住。香港已成中美必爭之地。
US-China New Cold War has expanded to financial front. Trump orders to pull out federal retirement money invested in Chinese equities. Together with tighter oversight of Chinese stocks in US, Trump seeks to control the foreign capital source of China. If UK and EU follow, China will face the crisis of capital chain. Under a finance war, China must tighten its control over its financial lifeline, i.e. Hong Kong. Paradoxically, Hong Kong's status as an international financial center rests upon US recognition under the “US-HK Policy Act”. Hong Kong has become US-China battlefield.
